Engagement Photos throughout the Historic Third Ward & Lakeshore State Park

Whimsical Roots

The Historic Third Ward is such a great location for portraits to celebrate your engagement or wedding. Around every corner is another inspiring alleyway full of cream city brick or fantastic historical architecture! This fantastic couple wanted to incorporate an iconic Milwaukee backdrop for their engagement photos. Pre-wedding photos are a fantastic way to get to know your wedding photographer as well as build rapport so that when your wedding day rolls around, they're more like one of your friends than one of your vendors. Additionally, it's a great way to calm any nerves you may be feeling about having your photos taken on your wedding day. An engagement photoshoot can be treated like a date night. Get dressed up and brainstorm some of your favorite locations to visit or your favorite activities to do together as a couple. Incorporating locations or activities that are meaningful to you will make you feel more confident in front of the camera and will ensure that the resulting photos look and feel like you and your fiancé(e). As you can see in the engagement photos below, it is a great idea to dress up in formal attire or in an outfit that is focused on fashion and style. After all, how often is it that you and your love get in front of the camera for a professional photoshoot? My guess is not that often, so you might as well put together some stylish wardrobes to look and feel your best. I absolutely love Tayler's leopard print pencil skirt and blazer pairing. Jake looked handsome in his suit jacket also! I recommend one elevated outfit and one outfit that is more casual so that you end up with a variety of looks in your final gallery of engagement portraits.

For the second portion of this engagement session, we ventured to Lakeshore State Park. The happy couple wanted to incorporate a champagne pop into their Milwaukee engagement photoshoot, so you bet I was obliged to make that happen! The reflections of the Milwaukee skyline against the water were fantastic!

As the sun went down, we danced and popped the bubbly. It was a perfect summer night to celebrate the start of forever!

If you are newly engaged and looking for an engagement photographer in Milwaukee, I've got you covered!! I strongly believe in taking advantage of engagement sessions to build relationship with your wedding photographer and I am happy to share my favorite engagement photography locations and best kept secrets for ensuring you look fabulous in your final gallery of images!! Congratulations... reach out and let's make some magic together!!
