Savannah and Ankush celebrated their Indian and American fusion wedding nuptials in Madison at the historic Garver Feed Mill. The Garver Feed Mill boasts an industrial chic aesthetic highlighting interior cream city brick, vaulted ceilings, thought-provoking art throughout and lots of beautiful natural light thanks to expansive windows. The highly sought after wedding venue is home to artisans, foodie delights and several event spaces to host your Wisconsin wedding celebration. Choose the Atrium if you are throwing a large wedding celebration, opt for the Canvas room if an intimate affair or microwedding is more your style. Either option will be sure to impress your guests and leave them relishing in the beauty of history brought back to life.
When the happy couple sent me their initial wedding inquiry, their main priority was seeking out a wedding photographer with a colorful, playful aesthetic that would showcase their relationship in a natural, candid style. The other priority was to hire someone who would be excited to document a wedding celebrating the blending of two cultures; Ankush hailing from Dargapur, India & Savannah, a Wisconsin native. As soon as I received the inquiry, I knew I was the girl for the job. You see, I had just returned from a 3 month trip to Asia earlier that year and was brimming with excitement for the opportunity to photograph the colorful, vibrancy of an Indian wedding. Savannah and Ankush chose to host their microwedding in the Canvas Room at the Garver Feed Mill, which is a fantastic idea if you are a couple who enjoys contemporary art and bespoke style.
Savannah is a project manager by day, so you can imagine the attention to detail and planning expertise brought to the table by this crafty bride. Scattered throughout the wedding celebration were unique details such as a smorgasbord of the bride's favorite quotes, a thoughtful gift exchange, poem readings, personal vows and numerous nods to Ankush's Indian culture. Savannah selected a gorgeous traditional Indian lehenga as her bridal attire, while Ankush went the more American groomswear route with a custom tailored suit. As shown below, the Sindhoor ceremony entails the groom placing a red powder on the forehead of his bride with the promise that he will protect her forever and focus on maintaining her happiness. At the end of the ceremony, Savannah and Ankush put their secret handshake routine on display for their guests before sealing the deal with a kiss. I love it when couples bring their unique personalities to the forefront!!
Overall, Savannah and Ankush's Indian/American fusion wedding was a joy to be a part of and I wish the happy couple all the best!!
